Close to la Fortuna, there is a private reserve which is just right for a night walk. This hike has an easy level; you will be accompanied by a guide who will show you the different kind of animals.

7 km hike, making stops at “las ollas” (the cooking pots), depressions on the ground full of clay and the Tenorio Volcano thermal springs. The tour ends at the colored Rio Celeste Waterfall.

Hike through the Arenal Observatory Lode grounds, through the rain forest and up to the crater rim of the Cerro Chato. You’ll end the tour with a stop at the Fortuna Waterfalls. Difficulty: hard.
